Norsk Energi's work on saving energy in Bulgaria was appreciated

Hundreds of energy efficiency projects in municipal buildings were carried out in Bulgaria with support from the EEA and Norway Grants. EEA and Norway Grants have chosen our project in the cultural center in Gramatikovo, in Southeastern Bulgaria as the demonstration case.

"Our Stories", the official blog of the EEA and Norway Grants includes inspiring stories from the projects made possible by the EEA and Norway Grants. It recently posted a story of our project which was implemented together with the municipality of Malkotarnovo. "Our stories" wrote amongst others:

"Gramatikovo is one of the important centers of cultural life in Southeastern Bulgaria. A number of energy efficiency measures were implemented in the cultural centre, including a new pellet heating system and a new pipe system for heating, façade insulation and installation of solar panels. This was made possible through a project under the program "Renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy security" and the good cooperation with the Norwegian company Norsk Energi."

Norsk Energi has assisted the municipality with the project development, quality assurance and implementation of energy efficiency measures in accordance with stringent requirements for low-emission buildings. Sergei Faschevsky from our Energy Systems in Buildings department led our work on that project.

A video has been made about the settlement and about the project, i.e., about the conversion of the existing cultural centre into the first near zero emission building in the region.
