When a heat pump and a solar panel are combined, heating supply becomes much more effective and carbon neutral. Norsk Energi got the opportunity to assess this technology in Romania, within the bilateral GREENER project.

New dual fuel technology from Latvia offers 50 % reduction of diesel consumption in heavy duty vehicles. Norsk Energi contributes by calculating possible emission reductions by converting diesel engines so that they can use a mixture of diesel and CNG/biomethane with the addition of water vapour.

A new multifunctional big data analytics platform service is to be established in Latvia by SIA DATI Group. Its data centre shall foster sustainable energy solutions. A partnership with Norsk Energi, under the framework Norway Grants Programme in Latvia, will help to choose modern climate technologies.  

Norsk Energi will support its Ukrainian partners by offering paid assignments to them, something they desperately need right now. In addition to that, employees of Norsk Energi have donated money to medicines and food for the elderly and sick in the port city of Odessa, in southern Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Norway,  Jonas Gahr Støre opened the new energy recovery plant at Elkem Salten in Nordland on Monday 15 November. This is one of the most energy efficient silicon plants in the world. Norsk Energi has been involved in this project and congratulates Salten Energy Recovery with the commissioning of this plant.

In 2020, we saved 11.5 GWh. Until August this year, we have saved 8.8 GWh, and at the end of the year we hope to break the record from last year," says Rita Næssén Barkholm, senior energy and environmental adviser at Oslobygg KF.

Plast Commerce – 93 (Bulgaria) could save up to 40 % of energy, - assumed Norsk Energi in its Energy Audit report in 2016. The actual savings in 2020 met Norsk Energi’s forecast. This bilateral project has been recently presented as the good practice example within the international workshop “Opportunities for Green Industry Innovation”. 

Norsk Energi helps to bring solar power to an off-grid settlement in Northern Russia.

Norsk Energi took part in a policy study on the adoption of BAT and reforming environmental taxes to reduce air pollution in Kazakhstan. The study was recently published by Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
