Brakerøya Energy Plant
Drammen city is expanding and a new hospital shall be constructed at Brakerøya. The new hospital has a substantial demand for heating and cooling. Norsk Energi has carried out a feed study to assess process design, heat pump technology, the need for area in the energy plant and so on.
The new energy plant is planned with 2 x 8MW heat pumps and 2 x 1,3MW cooling machines. The heat pumps is using seawater as a heat source. In addition one is planning to utilize waste heat from the cooling machines and emergency electricity generators. The feed study includes:
- Process calculations and conseptual PID drawings
- 3D lay out and piping design
- Evaluation of heat pump technologies
- Infrastructure and piping in the ground around the facility
- Design of seawater piping syste
- Safety analysis
- Environmental considerations and applications to authorities
- Budgeting
